CALKE ABBEY ESTATE, TICKNALL, SOUTH DERBYSHIRE Wed. 24th August 2022

I’m pleased to announce our next amble will be around the Calke Abbey Estate in South Derbyshire... a central location for us all.  The arrangements for the day will be slightly more complicated than usual so please take careful note!!!

PARKING POINT & LUNCH: The Staff of Life: 7 High Street, Ticknall, DE73 7JH - 01332 862479

TIME: 10.00am arrive and park up as arranged with the venue.

COFFEE AND START POINT FOR THE WALK: Scoff and Shop coffee shop – see below.

NB: The Staff of Life are unable to do coffee as they do not open until 12 noon.  Please park there and make your way back into the village a short distance to The Scoff and Shop coffee shop 32 Main Street, Ticknall DE73 7JZ – 01332 865023, where I have arranged for us to have tea/coffee, eats etc at about 10.15am.  I suggest for ease we each pay for our own refreshments there.

DIRECTIONS TO THE STAFF OF LIFE:
Ticknall is on the A514 midway between Derby, Melbourne and Ashby. Sat Nav: DE73 7JH

WALK: From the Scoff and Shop we will walk around the Calke Abbey Estate.  This is familiar territory last walked in May 2018.  It is an easy walk, shorts friendly and approximately 3½ miles. 

Lunch at The Staff of Life is arranged for 1.00pm and we are required to pre-order our main courses.
